The IOD was designed in    by           and is sailed in     fleets in the world. The early boats were made out of wood and more recently constructed in fiberglass. The World Championships is held every other year and is hosted by the various fleets.

The half model lines were taken of the original plans and the models are constructed in wood by hand. The models are available in natural finish or painted in the owners colors.
